Offering Help for Today and Hope for Tomorrow

The Vision of the Factory House

What is the status on The Factory House?

I cannot tell you how often I hear this question asked.  We have our building permit, quotes from local companies, and a host of volunteers ready to renovate.  What do we still need?  Funds.  We need around $100,000 to renovate the house so that it can be ready to be used for ministry.

What could it be used for?

The building could become a hub for organizations to offer practical help to the community.  The purpose would be to help the community reach the community.  Some of the programs that could become available include:

* After school program for kids

• After school tutoring program for students

• Crisis intervention

• Financial assistance

• Handicap and disability programs

• Job skills training

• Life skills training

• Facilities for handicap and special need programs

• Medical/Dental/Eye help

* Professional counseling

* Spiritual guidance and help

What needs to be done at the house?

Renovations that need to be made include:

Rewiring of all electrical work

New HVAC service

Plumbing repairs

New windows and siding

Handicap accessible bathroom and kitchen

Handicap Accessible ramp and porch

General repairs

Where is the money for renovations coming from?

There are several sources that could fund this project.  We have applied for several grants and are waiting for the decisions of various foundations.  We will be having another fundraising breakfast on November 15, 2008.  We also would like to see churches and businesses come alongside us and help fund this project.

Fundraising Idea!

It was brought to our attention that if everyone who is reading this newsletter is willing to give $100 over the next four months (that is only $25 a month) then we will have the money raised by the middle of October.  Would you be willing to commit to donating $25 a month for 4 months or a part thereof that is over and above your normal giving?  That is less than going out to dinner.  If you are interested in committing to this then please mark checks (Factory House Renovations) or donate online here.
